Health and Safety in the Workplace

Course Overview

Our Health and Safety in the Workplace Course is designed to equip employees, supervisors, and workplace personnel with the essential knowledge, awareness, and practical understanding required to maintain a safe and healthy working environment. The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course focuses on promoting workplace health and safety while preparing learners to recognise hazards, minimise risks, and act responsibly to prevent injuries and occupational illnesses. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical activities, demonstrations, and workplace-based examples, participants gain the confidence needed to contribute towards creating a safer workplace for themselves and their colleagues. The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course encourages employees to take an active role in identifying unsafe conditions and promoting responsible workplace safety practices.
The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course provides learners with a clear understanding of the principles of occupational health and safety, the legal responsibilities of employers and employees under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the importance of complying with workplace safety procedures. Participants will learn how to identify common workplace hazards, understand safe working practices, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly, maintain good housekeeping standards, recognise safety signs, and report hazards before they result in accidents or injuries. The training also covers emergency procedures, evacuation protocols, incident reporting, and the importance of effective communication during workplace emergencies. The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course helps learners understand how individual actions can influence overall workplace safety.
A strong emphasis is placed on the practical application of workplace safety principles, including hazard identification exercises, correct selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment, workplace housekeeping inspections, safety sign recognition, and emergency evacuation activities. Learners will participate in practical demonstrations and workplace scenarios that allow them to apply their knowledge in a controlled and supervised environment. The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course also promotes practical hazard awareness by helping learners recognise unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, potential risks, and appropriate corrective actions. These skills can be applied across a wide range of workplace environments and industries.
This Health and Safety in the Workplace Course is ideal for businesses that are required to provide workplace health and safety awareness training as part of occupational health and safety compliance requirements. Properly trained employees assist organisations in reducing workplace accidents, improving safety awareness, promoting compliance with legislation, and creating a positive safety culture. The training is suitable for employees, supervisors, team leaders, contractors, administrative staff, production personnel, safety representatives, and any individual responsible for maintaining workplace health and safety standards. By completing the Health and Safety in the Workplace Course, participants gain practical awareness that can help them identify hazards, follow safe procedures, report unsafe conditions, and contribute to continuous workplace safety improvement.
The Health and Safety in the Workplace Course ultimately aims to develop a workforce that understands the importance of prevention, responsibility, communication, and cooperation. Employees who understand workplace health and safety principles are better prepared to recognise hazards, follow established procedures, respond to emergencies, and support their colleagues. This makes the Health and Safety in the Workplace Course a valuable component of an organisation’s overall workplace safety and occupational health and safety programme.
