Risk Assessor Course
Course Overview
Our Risk Assessor Course is designed to equip employees with the essential knowledge, awareness, and practical skills required to identify workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and implement effective control measures. The Risk Assessor Course focuses on promoting a proactive approach to occupational health and safety by enabling learners to recognise potential dangers before incidents occur and contribute to creating safer working environments. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical exercises, and workplace-based scenarios, participants gain the confidence needed to conduct workplace risk assessments and support ongoing risk management processes. The training helps learners understand how effective risk assessment can prevent injuries, reduce exposure to hazards, and improve overall workplace safety.
The Risk Assessor Course provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of hazard identification and risk assessment, including the methods used to evaluate the likelihood and severity of workplace hazards. Participants will learn how to identify physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, environmental, and operational hazards that may affect employees, contractors, visitors, or property. The training also covers the legal requirements associated with workplace risk assessments and the importance of maintaining effective health and safety systems. Learners will gain an understanding of how to document identified hazards, assess potential consequences, and determine appropriate actions to reduce workplace risks.
A strong emphasis is placed on the practical application of risk assessment techniques, including workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk rating, and the implementation of suitable control measures. Learners will develop the ability to evaluate workplace conditions, determine risk levels, prioritise hazards, and recommend corrective actions using the hierarchy of controls. Practical exercises and workplace-based scenarios within the Risk Assessor Course provide participants with valuable hands-on experience in conducting and documenting risk assessments in a structured and systematic manner. Participants will also learn how to review existing controls and identify opportunities for further risk reduction.
This Risk Assessor Course is ideal for businesses that are required to conduct regular workplace risk assessments as part of occupational health and safety compliance requirements. Properly trained Risk Assessors assist organisations in reducing incidents, improving workplace safety, identifying hazards before they result in harm, and supporting legal compliance. The training is suitable for supervisors, managers, Health and Safety Representatives, SHE Officers, team leaders, committee members, contractors, and employees responsible for workplace safety and risk management activities.
By completing the Risk Assessor Course, participants gain practical skills that can be applied when conducting baseline, issue-based, task-specific, and ongoing workplace risk assessments. Learners will understand how to identify hazards, evaluate risks, recommend controls, record findings, and communicate risk assessment results to relevant employees and management. The Risk Assessor Course supports organisations in developing a proactive safety culture where hazards are identified and controlled before they cause workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, property damage, or operational disruptions.
